Kansas Mum Charged With Torturing And Murdering Her Baby, 1, Because She Wouldnt Stop Crying

A mother from Kansas has been charged with killing her baby daughter because she “was crying all the time.”

Neriah Dilley, 27, was charged with the murder of her one-year-old daughter in the city of Wichita in the US state of Kansas last Thursday, 14th October.

Dilley herself called the emergency services to a property on South Mission Road saying her daughter could not breathe on 9th October.

The news site KWCH reported that first responders found Dilley’s daughter, My’onna Townley, in a critical condition at the scene.

The baby was transferred to a local hospital and died shortly after arriving.

An autopsy revealed that the baby had died of suffocation and had suffered blunt force trauma, multiple contusions, subdural haemorrhages, and a fractured mandible.

Dilley was later arrested by the police on suspicion of having tortured, beaten and eventually killed her daughter.

According to KWCH, Dilley claimed that she was overwhelmed by her daughter’s constant crying, and allegedly put her hand around her neck and covered her mouth to silence her.

Approximately 20 minutes later, she noticed that her daughter was struggling to breathe, so she called the emergency services.

The court set Dilley’s bond at USD 250,000 (GBP 181,000) and included a clause stating that if the payment is made, she will not be allowed near any minors without the presence of an authorised adult.

The investigation is ongoing and the suspect is expected to appear in court again later today, 28th October.
