This pervert seen here taking upskirt photos of a woman on the underground has been sacked from China’s state-run news agency in the wake of the scandal.

The disturbing scenes were recorded on an underground train in the city of Chengdu in south-western China’s Sichuan Province by a passenger.

In the video, who has been identified in reports by his surname Chang, can be seen holding his phone by his knees with the camera upturned.

He then moves the phone under a woman’s polka-dot dress and appears to take upskirt photos before she sits down.

The footage was reportedly passed to the local police and an investigation was launched. Chang was then arrested and kept in detention for seven days before being handed a fine of around 500 RMB (57.33 GBP) after being found guilty of “outraging public decency”.

Local media report netizens then discovered that Chang had previously worked at the state-run Xinhua News Agency as a photographer and he had moved on to become an official with the agency’s subsidiary China Economic Information Service.

His employees have now confirmed he had been fired from his post because of the incident, adding that taking upskirt photos is a “hideous invasion of privacy” which degraded the victims.
