This is the moment a man knocks out his ex-girlfriend with a punch to the face at a restaurant before casually walking away.

A security camera captured the incident in the steakhouse’s outdoor seating area in the Brazilian municipality of Araci on the afternoon of 13th June.

The footage shows how the two had turned up at separate venues across the street from each other, and there had been an exchange of words between the man and one of the women with the suspect.

It seemed to settle down but then the man arrived at the table where the 44-year-old woman is sitting with the other couple. He can be seen taking her by surprise by grabbing her by her hair from behind.

He then punches her in the face before lifting her up off her chair. Still grabbing her by the hair, he is then seen punching her in the face two more times before letting her go.

The other man then stands between the pair when the jilted ex punches her in the face for a fourth time, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious before he casually walks away.

Paramedics were called to the scene, and they took the woman to the hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

According to the restaurant owner, Lailson Santana, who was not present at the time of the incident, the suspect often drank at a bar across the street from the steakhouse. It is not known whether he was drunk at the time of the crime.

A restraining order has since been taken out on the suspect, and the police have summoned him for questioning. At the time of reporting, he had not yet handed himself in.

The names of those involved have not been divulged.

The investigation is ongoing.
