A jealous woman who kidnapped and tortured two teenage love rivals, one of whom she made brush her teeth with a toilet brush, has been arrested and will face trial along with drunken pals who sat and watched.
Yulianna Bezuglaya, 24, meted out the shocking abuse to a teen girl she perceived to be her friend’s love rival and also to a teen woman whom she considered her own love rival.
She allegedly kidnapped the two females, identified as an unnamed 16-year-old girl and 19-year-old Natalya Parygina, before torturing them. Both incidents took place a week apart in October last year (2020).
In the first incident, which took place on 14th October, the suspect, who is believed to have been drunk at the time, saw the teen girl on the street and punched her.
She then forced her into her car and drove her to her flat in the city of Birobidzhan in Russia’s far-eastern Jewish Autonomous Oblast, where she tortured her over several hours.
The method of torture was unspecified. However, she reportedly intimidated the teen girl into remaining silent. As such, the teen girl did not report the incident to the police.
The suspect would later tell the police that the teen girl was not, in fact, her own love rival but her friend’s, and by allegedly torturing her, she was doing her friend a favour.
However, a week on from the incident she decided to give the same treatment to the woman she believed threatened her own relationship with a man whose nickname was reported as Chasik.
Parygina was quoted in local media as saying: “An acquaintance called me and invited me to take a walk. I agreed. He came by car. Several other people were sitting inside.
“I stated that I would not go anywhere with them. Then Yulianna got out of the car and forced me inside. I didn’t even know who she was.”
The next few hours turned into a nightmare for the young woman, who said: “It was the worst day of my life. I was made to brush my teeth with a toilet brush and was put through many more ordeals.
“Everybody in the flat just stood there and got drunk. They were amused by what I was being made to do, but I just did everything to save my life.”
The teen woman did not report the incident to the police. However, the prime suspect incriminated herself by uploading video footage she had recorded of the abuse to the Internet.
It only took a day for the video to reach the police.
In the footage, the suspect is seen forcing the teen woman to strip naked, beating her, and making her brush her teeth with a toilet brush, while others present fail to do anything to help her.
All participants in the alleged crime were immediately arrested. The investigation lasted about a year and was only recently concluded.
The region’s Investigative Department reported that both Bezuglaya and one of her adult female accomplices admitted their guilt, while the rest of the defendants, primarily teens, denied all accusations.
Bezuglaya will be tried for kidnapping, torture, violent acts of a sexual nature, attempted violent acts of a sexual nature, robbery, threats to kill, illegal circulation of pornographic materials, violation of privacy, and using a child for illegal activities.
The charges have been approved by the prosecutor and have now been sent to the court for consideration.
Bezuglaya will soon appear before court, and it is not clear how many years she faces in prison if she is found guilty of all charges.
