This Italian bride-to-be has dressed up in high heels and a face mask to throw her hen party with her friends in a supermarket to avoid breaking lockdown rules.

Katiusca Mariani had planned a hen party with her friends in Rimini, in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna but her plans had to change due to the coronavirus crisis.

She then came up with the idea of celebrating in a supermarket in the city of Milan in northern Italy’s Lombardy region.

In the photos, the bride-to-be can be seen in an elegant white hat whilst wearing a face mask in the supermarket.

Her friends in face masks, gloves, dresses and high heels can be seen with her in the supermarket as they celebrate whilst protecting themselves from COVID-19 infection.

Mariani told local media: “We did not want to stop seeing each other, even if the trip was delayed, we wanted to find a way of remembering this day.

“We queued, waiting for our turn to pay for our groceries and respecting all the rules. The only difference is that everybody took a bottle of alcohol and cheered. Once inside we did the grocery shopping together and took some pictures to remember it.”

She added: “The supermarket staff were very kind and two workers came up to us and doing a kind of arch they made me walk through the arch, as if I was in a church.”

She said that she had feared she would be reprimanded for the ‘party’ but the supermarket workers instead thanked her as the situation had made them smile.

Her friends have been named as Leda Salati, Daniela Scalia, Gaia Marchese, Marinella Di Paolo, Selin Kaya, Sara Naklha, Claudia Zaninelli and Livia Biardi and her wedding is set to take place on 27th June.

According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, Italy has registered 183,957 cases of COVID-19, and 24,648 deaths.
