Managers at an Israeli water and sewage management company had a bizarre request from cops – to help them find a man’s severed penis which had been flushed down the toilet.

The shocking incident happened when a 29-year-old man, who had reportedly been in unbearable pain for some time in his groin area, took matters into his own hands – and sliced off the offending member.

The man, who was not named, then flushed it down the toilet to make sure it was not reattached because he did not want the pain to return, and then collapsed in bed when he was later found by his mother in the city of Beersheba in Israel.

It is unclear whether the man had sought medical attention before taking action, and cops are also checking his mental state and have not commented on whether he was being treated for the pain. He had apparently told police, however, that he saw no other way out from his ordeal.

Police did confirm that they went to Beersheba’s water and sewage management company, named Mey Sheva, to ask if there would be any possibility to locate and recover the penis from the pipes so that it could be reattached.

But even after obtaining the address and checking the possibilities, they had to tell police that it was effectively impossible and that “even if all the pipes were dismantled”, there was no chance of finding the missing member.

The man had used a kitchen knife in the incident that took place on 10th June, and Magen David Adom paramedics took him to the Soroka Medical Centre in the city of Beersheba for treatment, where medics asked police to try and find the missing member.

Magen David Adom means “Red Shield of David” in Hebrew and is Israel’s national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service.

Officials from the Soroka Medical Centre reported: “The wounded man is in a stable condition and was taken to the recovery room after undergoing surgery.”
