Artin Sardaran was wounded in the brutal raid on the mosque in Shiraz on Wednesday, 26th October.

The family had been shopping for his 19-year-old sister who was due to wed in Tehran this week.

The attack left at least 15 people dead and 40 others injured.

Artin has been discharged from hospital after treatment for a bullet wound to his stomach. His sister also survived the attack.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack, with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei saying the assailants “will surely be punished” and calling on Iranians to unite.

Artin and his family had been shopping ahead of the wedding when they went to the Shahcheragh Shrine, which is a Shia Muslim mosque in the city of Shiraz, in southern Iran.

Iranian authorities have blamed the anti-hijab protests for the terrorist attack, claiming that they had “paved the way” for it by causing instability in the country.

Artin has now been discharged from hospital, according to Iranian state and independent media.

He is reportedly not eating, as his dad, who has not been named, was the only one he would let feed him.

Iranian forces have been cracking down on waves of civil disorder following the death of Mahsa Amini, 22, from Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, who was on a visit to Tehran when she was arrested by morality police, accused of violating hijab rules on 13th September.

She was allegedly beaten while in custody and spent the following days in a coma in the hospital before succumbing in the ICU on 16th September.

The clinic where she was treated said in a now-deleted social media post that she had been admitted brain-dead.

Alleged medical scans of her skull leaked by hackers showed that she had suffered bone fractures, haemorrhages, and brain oedema.

Independent Iranian media have claimed that Mahsa’s medical records showing her history of heart disease were faked by the Iranian government.

Dissident Iranian activists have now reportedly said that over 400 people have died as a result of security forces cracking down on the protests gripping the country.
