This is the moment really an alien-like caterpillar is recorded in slow motion moving across a table.

Anik Hossain, 26, recorded this video of a White-Marked Tussock Moth Caterpillar (Orgyia leucostigma) in his home terrace, in the city of Rajshahi, in Bangladesh, a country located in Southern Asia, on Monday (2nd November).

The video that was shot on a Samsung A50 phone shows the strange caterpillar walking towards the person filming.

It has a red head with long antennae and a fury thorax.

During some seconds the video turns to slow motion.

At the end of the body the strange creature has a tail that goes up.

Anik Hossain is an aficionado of doing mobile photography and member of the Facebook group Wonders of Nature, where people from around the world post this type of material.

This type of caterpillars have these colours to scare predators, and posses toxic pincushion hairs on their backs which end up embedded in the skin when touched.
