This is the moment a prison guard leaves a door open while he moves around allowing three convicts to simply strut out of the jail unchallenged.
The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera at the Social Exclusion Centre in the municipality of Macuspana located in the south-eastern Mexican state of Tabasco and was later shared on social media.
In the clip, the guard is seen leaving the metal door open as he moves around, apparently carrying out work duties.
At the 30-second mark, a prisoner is seen peering around a corner to check if the coast is clear.
He then scans the corridor as two other prisoners tip-toe behind him.
The trio, all wearing civilian clothing, are last seen walking unchallenged through the open door, reportedly to their freedom.
According to reports, the inmates have been identified as Jose Cornelio Perez and Jose Natividad Cruz Velazquez, both serving 50-year sentences for kidnapping, and Gerardo Daniel Sarracino Camara, who was jailed for car theft.
Local media said that prison workers did not notice the jailbreak until 6am, around three hours after the men walked out.
The Secretariat of Public Security in Tabasco shared photos of the fugitives and asked the public to come forward with any information that could lead to their capture.
Meanwhile, the guard, identified as Victor, has reportedly been arrested as a suspected accomplice, although the case is still under investigation.
