This is a shocking image of an unwanted dog dumped by two men in a clear plastic rubbish bag next to a dumpster.

The sad story was shared by the animal charity Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) which said that it happened next to the rubbish dump in the town of Kajang which is in south-eastern Selangor state in Malaysia, around 12 miles south-east of Kuala Lumpur.

The organisation said that the dog had been spotted by a delivery driver called Rozaidi Hashim who had contacted them.

The organisation said in a statement: “He saw two men dump the dog that was in a large clear plastic bad at a dumpster in Kajang.”

He also managed to note down the license plate of the two men before they drove off, and then freed the animal.

The animal activist said that the dog was weak, scared and had a huge gaping wound around its neck that apparently came from a chain that had been worn too tightly.

It is believed that when the owners realised the dog was in need of urgent medical treatment, they had simply put it in the bag and had thrown it into the bin.

After the dog was released by the delivery driver from the plastic, it had run away into a nearby sewer where it hid scared until it could be rescued by firemen.

It was then taken for treatment at the nearby vets. The activist said it was a female dog which they have named Rozi, and is being treated at the St Angel Animal Medical Center in Puchong.

As well as its neck injuries, it was severely malnourished and also anaemic, and also had a maggot-infested wound on its back.

The charity added that the owners “must have dumped it like garbage because they did not want to spend money on treatment.”
