A man has been arrested for strangling his influencer girlfriend to death after her body was found in her bathtub.

According to the news site Ren TV, Anastasia Horolskaya, 24, a popular TikToker and the vocalist of a rock band called ‘Harley’, argued with her 22-year-old boyfriend, name not disclosed, in her apartment in the city of Kyshtym in the Russian region of Chelyabinsk Oblast.

Ren TV said the couple only knew each other for a few weeks, and that the suspect fled the scene after allegedly strangling Anastasia to death during the row.

According to the news site Komsomolskaya Pravda, Anastasia’s grandmother, who was worried that she hadn’t heard from her, went to her house and found her dead body in a bathtub full of water on 19th September.

The grandmother, who noticed marks on Anastasia’s neck, immediately informed the police and an investigation was launched into the incident.

Officials of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Chelyabinsk Oblast announced that the suspect was found and detained on 27th September.

Komsomolskaya Pravda reported that the suspect confessed to the murder under police questioning.

The cause of the row and motive behind the woman’s death have not yet been disclosed.

The investigation is ongoing.
