An Indonesian dad has named his son ‘ABCDEF GHIJK’.
The bizarre name was discovered after the boy went for his COVID-19 jab and had to show his ID.
The boy, who comes from the regency of Muara Enim in the Indonesian province of South Sumatra, had to show it when he went for his vaccine appointment, and officials were reportedly stumped by his unusual name.
Images of the boy’s paperwork and an inscription on his clothes show his name as ‘ABCDEF GHIJK Zuzu’.
After local media caught wind of the boy’s vaccine registration, his father was contacted and told reporters that he came up with the name because he dreamed of becoming a writer and wanted it before his son had even been born.
Today, ABCDEF GHIJK goes by the simplified nickname ‘Adef’ while Zuzu is derived from his parent’s names, Zuhro and Zulfahmi.
According to reports, officials at the vaccination centre did not believe ABCDEF GHIJK Zuzu was the lad’s real name and he had to explain the reason, and provide proof.
Local media said the 12-year-old boy has two older brothers with normal names, Ammar and Attur, despite the dad wanting to call them NOPQ RSTUV and XYZ respectively, but on each occasion eventually opted against it.
