Cops discovered that a man had been stabbed to death by his son and his wife, who suspected he was having an affair with his daughter-in-law, after he secretly put a tape recorder under the bed that recorded them plotting.

Murdered Nazim Kacar, 51, who lived in the district of Ergene in the north-western Turkish province of Tekirdag, was stabbed to death with 20 knife blows by his son Guven Kacar, 31, aided and assisted by his mother Munevver Kacar, 49, and another relative because they believed he was sleeping with his son’s wife.

The son had become convinced that his wife Misra Kacar, age not disclosed, was having an affair with his dad Nazim and allegedly decided to get revenge, persuading his mum to join him after learning that she wanted a divorce anyway.

The mother and son then allegedly hatched a plan in which they would concoct a story that the supposedly adulterous man had been beating his wife, and that she would then stab him in self defence. They also managed to involve a relative, Serdal Tasci, who was the brother of the daughter-in-law who allegedly agreed to help them in order to avenge his family’s honour over the affair.

The plan worked almost seamlessly, with the son arranging to speak to his dad Nazim Kacar and then allegedly stabbing him 20 times to death at his home with the aid of the other two.

They then called police after first of all roughing the mother up a little bit to make it look like she had been in a fight with her husband.

Police accepted the story at face value at first, with emergency medics confirming that the man was dead at the scene.

She was arrested and taken to the police station where she gave her statement, but police, in what had appeared at first to be an open and shut case, then discovered the still running tape recorder under the bed.

It is believed that the father was suspicious that his son was up to something, and had secretly placed a tape recorder under the bed to record the details of their conversation.

When police played it back, they allegedly heard the murder and the man’s son, wife and the brother of his daughter-in-law planning the final details of the story they would give the cops, and all three were arrested.

All three have reportedly confessed, and have now been taken to court to face charges of murder after which they were remanded in custody.

The investigation into the incident continues.
