Reports have surfaced claiming Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi “threw chairs to the floor” and “barely opened his mouth” after realising he was not starting against Borussia Dortmund.

The reported incident with former Inter Milan striker Icardi, 27, happened in the Champions League Round of 16 2-1 loss against Dortmund on 18th February, however the incident is just being reported now.

According to French news site ‘Soccerlink’, when the striker realised “he was not going to be a starter, Icardi got so bothered that he threw chairs to the floor.

“Once his anger passed, the Argentine international remained frustrated, kept quiet and barely opened his mouth until his club returned to Paris.”

The reports come as rumours of club giants such as Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid eyeing up the Argentine striker for this summer’s transfer window.

Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara, 33, who also works as his agent, recently told local media: “Will Icardi ever go to Juventus? I really do not know. Are we living in Milan or Paris next year?

“You never know with football. Mauro will decide and we will follow him.”

Icardi was sent to PSG on a season-long loan deal in last summer’s transfer window after a controversial exit from Inter Milan.

He has been having a successful season with the French side scoring 19 goals in 29 appearances.

PSG sit top of Ligue 1 with 65 points and are set to play the second-leg match against Dortmund on 11th March in Paris.
