Fallen former tennis champ Boris Becker was in such a rush to leave prison he left his old clothes behind before being deported back to Germany.
Becker, 55, was released from HM Prison Huntercombe in Nuffield seven and a half months into his 30-month sentence and flew back to Germany on 15th December.
The release was so hush-hush that Becker was unable to say goodbye to pals he had made at the jail.
While the shamed star was whisked out of the gates at 9am, all other prisoners were kept in their cells until 10am, it has emerged.
Becker reportedly spent his last evening behind bars – where he had been serving time for hiding assets during his bankruptcy – working out in the prison gym.
German media are reporting that prison guards took Becker from his cell in the early hours, with the former world number one taking only his most prized belongings.
In the days leading up to his deportation, he had given away his trainers, a jacket, and a hat to his fellow inmates. He reportedly left his remaining clothes behind.
He left prison in a white van destined for London Biggin Hill Airport at 9am. There, a Cessna Citation Latitude business jet took off at 11.50am.
It landed at Frankfurt Airport at 12.40pm, with a close friend of the six-time Grand Slam winner telling German media: “Boris is back in Germany.”
The private flight is believed to have cost EUR 8,350 (GBP 7,300), according to German media.
As things stand, Becker is not allowed to return to the UK, where his daughter Anna Ermakova, 22, lives.
