Brazilian footie ace Ronaldo has got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Celina Locks.

Former striker Ronaldo popped the question on 11th December while holidaying in the Dominican Republic.

Delighted model Celina took to Instagram to share snaps of the grinning couple with her 402,000 followers.

She captioned them: “Yes, I do. I love you forever, @ronaldo.”

The 46-year-old two-time World Cup winner replied “Love you” followed by four red heart emojis.

Ronaldo and Celina met at a party and started dating in early 2015.

In a 2018 interview, she outlined her hopes to one day have children with the former football star and said his best quality is that he is “affectionate”.

One of those to congratulate the couple was the first of Ronaldo’s four children, Ronald, who wrote on his own Instagram page: “Long live love!”

Ronald – now a DJ – was born in April 2000 to footballer Milene Domingues, who was married to Ronaldo for four years.

Brazilian Celina is, at 32 years of age, 14 years her fiance’s junior.

The blonde describes herself online as “Founder & CEO @celinalocksbeauty” and “Philanthropist at @fundacaofenomenos”.

Ronaldo’s Fundacao Fenomenos (Phenomena Foundation) describes its mission as “identifying, supporting and strengthening Phenomena who positively transform Brazil”.

The former goal bagger is nicknamed O Fenomeno (The Phenomenon) in his home country.

In addition to two World Cups, Ronaldo won La Liga with Real Madrid and received numerous individual and team awards for both club and country.

He retired from professional football in 2011.

Ronaldo is now the owner and president of Spanish La Liga club Real Valladolid and also owns Brazilian Serie A club Cruzeiro.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
