Brazilian-British TV star Jessica Alves – known as the ‘Human Barbie Doll’ – has revealed that she will undergo surgery to make her voice more feminine as her current voice is “weird”.
Alves, 38, identified as a woman in January 2020 after becoming famous as the ‘Human Ken Doll’.
The influencer, who lives in London but has been visiting her home country Brazil for four months, said she will travel back to the UK for the operation.
Alves, who boasts 3 million followers on Instagram, said: “The voice surgery is for feminization. They will open up my throat and sew the vocal cords to make them tighter. I will not be able to speak for 10 days and when I return I will have a hoarse voice.
“After a month, I should see the results. It is going to be very feminine.”
She said the procedure will be a “rebirth for me” as she is still often mistaken for a man over the phone, adding: “My voice is weird.”
The influencer said: “My body is getting so much better looking, my waist is slimmer. My butt is shapely, my arms are thinner. I’m sleeping better, my quality of life has improved a lot. I’ve even enrolled in London and hired staff. I’ll keep on. The gym is really about health, especially at my age. I want to reach 40 years old very well.”
In September, Alves travelled to Brazil from her home in the UK to officially change her name at the same registry office in the district of Santo Amaro in the city of Sao Paulo where she was registered as Rodrigo Alves at birth.
Her name change comes nearly two years after she identified as a woman.
The overjoyed TV star said: “I’m very happy because I got my new birth certificate today, here in Santo Amaro where I was born and registered.
“For me, it’s a very important achievement. Now my name is correct, as it should be. I’m very happy and I need to celebrate. Where is a night club here in Sao Paulo? And thank you all for the loving messages.”
Alves came out as transgender in January 2020 and announced that she was changing her name to Jessica in July, even telling the hosts of British TV show ‘This Morning’: “I have been developing as a person and as a human being. I was born a transgender woman.
“Throughout the years you have known me, I was fighting the fact that I have always been a woman inside myself.”
Alves, who has a British father, shot to fame due to her multiple plastic surgeries when she was a man, attracting a huge social media following and global fame as ‘The Human Ken Doll’.
