The whole front end of the yellow car is down the sinkhole while the rear tyres are on the road.

Local media report the 42-year-old female driver of the car was not injured in the incident.

In the video, the car can be seen being pulled from the sinkhole by a crane.

Head of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Zulkefly Yahya told reporters that preliminary investigations showed the sinkhole had been caused by an area of loose soil which spread for approximately three square metres.

The driver’s daughter said on social media that the hole had opened up below the car as she was driving.

Reports state the city council have started work to replace the damaged road.

It is unclear if the driver plans to file a complaint about the incident.
