This is the moment a biker’s shoes burst into flames along with his motorbike in an accident at a petrol station.

The panicked man can then be seen desperately stamping his feet to extinguish the blaze in the incident that took place in the municipality of Corumba, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, in Brazil, on Tuesday, 29th November.

The biker was filling up his motorbike with petrol when the fire started, with the flames threatening to ignite the fuel pumps and another motorbike nearby.

The CCTV footage shows how the petrol station’s attendants can be seen quickly trying to put the blaze out as the footage ends.

They manage to douse the flames before they could spread, extinguishing the blaze in about 15 seconds.

Alessandro de Moraes, the manager of the petrol station, told local media: “The moment the driver started the motorcycle, there must have been some mechanical failure that caused it to catch fire.

“The heat from the motorcycle and the fuel caused the fire and caused the flames to rise very quickly, but our employees took quick action to contain the fire.”

He added that despite the scare, no one was injured.
