This pretty Colombian model who was jailed for 15 years in China is stuck in a prison where food supplies are reportedly running out due to the coronavirus quarantine.
Juliana Lopez was jailed on 18th July 2015 in a women’s prison in Guangzhou, in China’s Guangdong province for drug trafficking and has been allowed to call her family in order to calm their fears over coronavirus.
Carlos Mario Lopez, her father, told reporters the prison is under strict quarantine, adding: “They have not changed guard since Chinese New Year which was on 24th January. They have them in quarantine, nobody goes out, nobody goes in, even the food is running out.”
The model reportedly said that “this country is going crazy for this virus, there are a lot of security measures. They have us all the time washing our hands with chlorine”, and added that “everybody is locked up here, we are not allowed to go out”.
The pretty model, who exact age is unclear, said prison visits are banned and prison guards are wearing masks as a safety measure.
According to the father, Juliana is allowed one phone call a month, which she used in early January so he was surprised she called again at the end of the month.
Her father said that his wife and Juliana’s aunt, who are in China, are in a good health state and following the instructions of the health authorities.
There have been a reported 17,480 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 17,297 in mainland China and 362 total deaths.
The Colombian government has dismissed the presence of the virus in the country despite the fact there was a suspected case in Cali. Tests later confirmed the woman was suffering from flu.
