These are some of the goals by top-flight Brazilian women footballers in a historic 56 – 0 victory beating a record held by Scottish football for over 130 years.

Top-flight Brazilian woman’s club Flamengo recently made history with a stunning 56 – 0 victory over Greminho in the women’s football Rio de Janeiro state championship Campeonato Carioca this Saturday.

The video shows several of the goals scored by the Flamengo players as the Greminho side look incapable of stopping the players or their strikes on goal.

Local media report the match was 12-0 in the first 15 minutes and 29 – 0 by the end of the first half.

The scoreline at halftime did not make the Flamengo players slow their intensity as they scored an additional 27 goals in the second half.

Flamengo attacker Flavia Giovana Feliciano was the player of the match scoring 14 of the goals for the club’s historic victory.

Flamengo manager Ricardo Abrantes told local media: “We are happy with the result. Flamengo making a record like this makes us very happy. The other team were weaker but the girls did their part.

“It is a competition. It was a serious performance by everyone and I can say that we achieved our objective.”

Flamengo have reportedly broken the record for the most goals scored in a single match.

The previous record was by the Scottish team Arbroath FC beating Bon Accord FC in a 36-0 victory in the 1885 Scottish Cup. Arbroath still hold the record in men’ football.

These records do not include the 149-0 victory of AS Adema Madagascar over Stade Olympique LEmyrne in the Malagasy top-flight tournament in which the losing club started scoring own goals in protest to the refereeing of the match in 2002.

With their latest victory, Flamengo have cemented their position at the top of Group E in the competition.

They have one match left to play in the group stage against Selecao CUFA this Sunday 6th October before advancing to the next stage.
