This is the nail-biting moment a pupil hangs on by his fingertips after trying to bunk off school through a second-floor window.

The boy had fallen out with staff at Putilkovo, Moscow Oblast, Russia, after being given a poor grade on 25th October.

But after he was stopped trying to go home through the front gate, he tried to sneak out through a window, reported local media.

It was only when he was halfway out that he realised the 30-foot drop was too much, but he did not have the strength to climb back in.

Footage of the rescue bid shows one teacher clinging desperately to the pupil’s leather belt while the lad tries to hang onto the window frame.

Beneath him, more staff have put up a huge stepladder, but it is still not tall enough to reach him.

Eventually, the pupil was manhandled back into the building through the open window.

In a statement obtained by Newsflash, the Prosecutor’s Office of Moscow Oblast said: “It has been preliminarily established that the event depicted in the video recording took place today [25th October] at about 2pm in a secondary school in Krasnogorsky District.

“It follows from the minor’s explanation that, having received an unsatisfactory grade, he was upset and wanted to go home. However, the guard did not allow him to leave the school building.

“He then decided to jump out of the second-floor window, but got scared, and the teachers helped him climb back up.

“Ambulance staff, who arrived after being called, found no reason to hospitalise the teenager.

“During the probe, the prosecutor’s office of Krasnogorsk will establish the circumstances of the incident and assess compliance with legislation on education, as well as on prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency.

“Based on the results of the probe, if there are grounds, prosecutorial response measures will be taken.”
