This is the dramatic moment a woman’s left arm is crushed when she heroically saves a two-year-old’s life from an oncoming lorry that nearly runs them both over.

The scary incident took place on a road in the city of Suining, in the south-western Chinese province of Sichuan.

CCTV footage shows the little boy walking out on the street at the same time as a large lorry is headed straight to where he was walking.

At the very same second, a woman – named as Ms Ran – told local media that she flew out without even thinking and intentionally put herself in harm’s way to protect and save the boy.

As the large vehicle drives off, Ms Ran can be seen lying face-down on the street unconscious with the little boy whose life she saved next to her.

A man can be coming running to help the two right before the footage ends.

Mr Ran said that the next thing she remembers is waking up in the hospital with serious injuries and an amputated arm.

Sadly, the lorry had run over her left arm and it was so badly injured that doctors were not able to save it, and had to cut it off instead.

But the child was saved and was only slightly injured.

And his hero saviour said that does not regret her actions, adding that it is worth exchanging an arm for a life.
