This footage shows a woman hanging off the roof of an 18-storey building before a group of cops pull her to safety.

The incident took place in a residential district in the city of Jiangmen, which is in South China’s Guangdong Province, on 27th November.

Local police were called to the scenes after witnesses spotted the woman, who has yet to be named, sitting atop a wall on the roof of the high-rise tower block.

With paramedics and the fire service on standby on the ground, officers were sent to speak to the woman who they say appeared ready to plunge off the roof.

Footage shows her grabbing hold of a thin railing with either hand while lowering herself over the edge, with officers rushing up to save her.

In the heart-stopping video, the woman’s entire body dangles over the edge of the high-rise before officers pull her back to safety.

The authorities said the young woman was unharmed and reunited with her family shortly after.

They were still investigating the incident, which they say began after an argument between the woman and her family, but they did not provide further details.
