HEIM HELP: LA County Sheriff’s Sergeant Saves Man from Choking

This is the moment a brave police sergeant saves a man from choking by performing the Heimlich manoeuvre after he saw him acting in severe distress.

Newsflash obtained the images from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, along with a statement according to which the incident took place in the city of Los Angeles, in the US state of California.

The statement said: “Sergeant Duncan from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department County Services Bureau and was patrolling an alley behind a Department of Public Social Services office in Los Angeles when he saw another Los Angeles County employee exit his van in distress.”

CCTV footage shows the employee, who was not named, stepping out of his vehicle and waving down the sergeant, who immediately takes matters into his hands and saves the choking man’s life after a few thrusts.

After performing the Heimlich, the sergeant puts the man down and stands with him for a few minutes to make sure he is okay.

“Without hesitation, Sergeant Duncan did what he had to do and saved the man’s life,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
