Heidi Klum’s 73-year-old dad spent the day buying plants at a garden centre whilst his supermodel daughter was getting married on a luxury yacht.

Gunther Klum, 73, was at home in the city of Bergisch Gladbach, in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, while his daughter, 46, was marrying 29-year-old Tom Kaulitz on the Italian island of Capri.

Gunther was spotted relaxing at a local garden centre buying plants, and he was later seen at a petrol station buying a newspaper.

His absence was said to have been a talking point amongst guests on the yacht ‘Christina O’ where his daughter married her rock star partner.

Heidi’s mother Erna Klum was present at the wedding and reportedly claimed Gunther was missing due an imminent knee operation.

However, German newspaper Bild claims Gunther was not happy with Heidi’s choice of partner in Tom Kaulitz. 

The paper also claims there are disagreements between the supermodel and her father about her business activities.

Heidi and Kaulitz, the guitarist with German rock band Tokio Hotel, had already married secretly in February in Los Angeles two months after getting engaged.

They made their union public with the star-studded ceremony on the yacht, which was once owned by Aristotle Onassis, at the weekend. 

Heidi, who was one of the world’s biggest ever supermodels, was previously married to the British pop star, Seal.
