This is the moment a young child is lifted in the air by his neck after he puts his head through a barrier.

The incident took place in the city of Zhengzhou in Henan Province in east-central China on 13th September.

The CCTV footage starts with another boy, reportedly the child’s sibling, putting his head through the barrier and then clambering through to the other side.

His brother then attempts to imitate him but as soon as he puts his head through the bars, the barrier raises and lifts him off the ground.

He struggles, after a while discarding what appears to be a Frisbee to free up his other hand.

His panicked mum, who has not been named, immediately tries to help him, apparently trying to free his head from the bars.

Eventually, a man comes over and he manages to pull the barrier down enough so the mother can free the child.

She puts the lad on the ground and he appears to be uninjured as the footage ends.

There have been no updates on the boy’s condition and it is unclear if he had to be taken to hospital.
