The man then stands up as he speaks to the officer and the cop then launches a headbutt at the man’s head, sending him falling backwards into his chair.

The cop can then be heard saying “get out, get out of here, now, I said!” to the victim, who has not been named.

The Mayor of the town, Raul Cozarov, has now announced that an investigation has been launched with a view to sanctioning the officer after the video went viral. It is unclear who recorded the video or posted it online.

Cozarov told reporters: “I strongly disagree with any action that contravenes the legal provisions regarding local police intervention. The person in question is a local police officer, in Gataia. Following the video, I ordered the Disciplinary Commission to be called for a disciplinary sanctioning of the local policeman.”

The investigation is still ongoing and no sanctions have yet been reported against the officer. It is unclear what disciplinary actions the officer faces and no motive has been provided for the incident.
