This is the heart-stopping moment a young boy climbs on an outside window ledge at a block of flats in Brazil.

The incident was filmed at a residential building on Avenida Roberto Silveira in the municipality of Niteroi in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro on the morning of 8th November.

According to the news site G1, local residents noticed the boy standing on the window ledge high above the ground and tried to alert the parents inside the flat.

One frightened resident told local media: “I was in a nearby building when I heard a builder on a construction site screaming.

“I went outside and saw the child. I was shocked and started screaming too.

“That is when those responsible saw what was happening and ran to the room to get the child out of there. It was terrifying.”

In the video, the boy is seen walking along the ledge as residents on a nearby balcony try to alert the parents.

One scared local says: “The little boy is at the window, Miss. The lady’s son is on the ledge. Go to the bedroom, guys. Please!”

The video then shows someone in the flat lifting the blind to pull the youngster inside the apartment.

One resident said on social media: “It was a horrible scene, the person in the other apartment was desperately screaming at someone in the apartment where the incident took place to call the doorman to let him know that the child was at the window.

“The child opened and closed the window and walked from one side of the ledge to the other, unfortunately, I saw everything.”
