This is the moment furious parents carry a defiant headmistress out of the school while still in her office chair before she ends up face-planting the ground outside.
The incident took place at Laerskool Theresapark in Pretoria in the South African province of Gauteng on Thursday.
Outraged parents accused the headmistress, name not disclosed, of abusing other teachers and financially running the school into the ground.
Gauteng education minister Panyaza Lesufi confirmed that the parents’ accusations against the headmistress and school governing body are now under investigation.
However, Lesufi criticised the parents’ actions at Laerskool Theresapark as completely “unacceptable” after they ejected the headmistress from the grounds while still sitting in her office chair.
In the footage, the woman is seen face-planting the ground after being carried out of the school, apparently choosing to throw herself off her office chair.
Lesufi said: “No amount of grievances can justify the use of violence on any of our teachers. That is simply non-negotiable.
“Further, there are processes and procedures in law that parents can take when they are having problems with principals. We cannot condone this unacceptable behaviour.”
Lesufi added: “We are closely monitoring the situation and we are calling on parents to desist behaving in this fashion or else we will be left with no option but to take drastic steps.”
Lesufi also called on parents to complain to the provincial education department and not take matters into their own hands.
The investigation is ongoing.
