This is the moment a smooth have-a-go hero nimbly sticks out his foot and trips up a suspected thief allowing cops to arrest him before carrying on his way as though nothing had happened.

The incident was filmed in the Marina shopping centre in the coastal resort of Vina del Mar in the central Chilean province of Valparaiso while the nimble-footed hero was walking past the shops with earphones in.

In the footage, the have-a-go hero is seen walking past the CCTV camera and slightly adjusting his body as he appears to remove an earphone.

With a nimble ‘back heel’, the young man then sends the suspected thief flying allowing cops who were standing nearby and leapt into action when they saw the running man being chased by shop staff to apprehend him.

Meanwhile, the nonchalant hero casts a look over his shoulder before continuing to enjoy the track on his player, and coolly walking away as though nothing had happened.

Local media dubbed the man ‘a hero without a cape’.

According to reports, the suspect stole products from a Tommy Hilfiger shop valued at over 743,000 CLP (720 GBP). it was a pearly being chased by store staff when he approached the area where the police were standing and was then floored in front of them by the have a go hero.

The two officers in the footage were responding to reports of a separate shoplifting incident.

The suspect remains in police custody and local media revealed he has a criminal record for two previous robbery attempts.
