Handcuffed Man Found With Scores Of Maggots Wriggling In Massive Wrist Wound

This is the moment local residents take pity on a man who had been handcuffed several days earlier and is now suffering with wriggling maggots in a gaping wrist wound.

The man, named solely as ‘Bigo’, was found handcuffed near a stream in the municipality of Muana in the Brazilian state of Para on 7th November.

The police said he had been handcuffed eight days earlier, allegedly by private security guards when he turned up to a party with a knife, according to the news site DOL.

He reportedly fled the scene shortly after being cuffed. However, according to local residents, he later sought help due to the worsening wounds around his wrists.

In the images, one wrist appears to show a gaping wound filled with wriggling maggots.

Local residents reportedly offered the man food and water and tried to care for the maggot-infested wrist wound apparently caused by his days spent in the tight handcuffs.

However, when they realised how bad his injuries were, they arranged for him to be taken to the Muana Municipal Hospital.

The City Hall has since said that the man is wanted in connection with several thefts and robberies in the area.

The police reported that he has a criminal record for several counts of theft and that he was meant to be wearing an electronic ankle tag, which he had allegedly removed.
