These images show airport information boards reading “f*ck you Greta” complete with a photo of teenage activist Great Thunberg after they were targeted by hackers.

The incident took place at Odessa International Airport, serving the city of Odessa in south-central Ukraine.

On the information boards between the time of departure and point of destination a photo of Greta Thunberg, 16, and a message reading “f*ck you, Greta!” appeared.

Local media report the offensive message was posted by hackers who used a photo of her speech during the United Nations Climate Action Summit, which took place during the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on 23rd September.

The airport’s administration confirmed that the images had been posted by hackers. Reports state the hackers also altered the flight schedule on the airport’s website.

It is unclear if an investigation has been launched.

Netizen ‘geneva victorija’ said: “This is so shameful.”

Another one ‘Volniy Veter’ added: “It is such a shame that Odessa is showing itself as a shallow place where people are capable of doing such ridiculous things.”

Local media report Thurnberg’s speech was negatively received by a large majority of Russian speakers, with many people calling her a ‘sick’, ‘angry’ and ‘aggressive’ child.
