A stunning influencer in the Mexican Army has been selected by top brass to lead a charmer offensive to sign up young recruits.
Giovanna Villegas – a staff sergeant in the Mexican Army with more than 60,000 social media followers – has become the poster girl for the campaign.
She uses her Instagram and TikTok pages – where she boasts 51,100 and 11,000 followers respectively – to show a positive side of the Mexican Armed Forces and also to encourage people to sign up.
She recently took to social media to urge her perusers to enrol themselves in the Military Education System.
She wrote: “This is your opportunity to be part of the Mexican Army and Air Force. All the best, future cadets!”
In another post, she mentioned the Air Force Specialist Troops Military School as “an excellent opportunity to continue your professional career in the Aeronautical field”.
She exhorted her followers to “go see the live broadcast and learn more about this Military School”.
In addition to her snaps in uniform, she has delighted the internet with her dance routines and her duckface selfies.
The Mexican Armed Forces were last reported to have 277,150 personnel and 81,500 reserve personnel. Their budget in 2021 was USD 11 billion (GBP 9.6 billion), representing an estimated 0.6 per cent of GDP.
They are currently involved in the Mexican war on drugs.
Instagram user Alberto Rendon commented on one of Giovanna’s recent posts: “If only the Mexican Army were as nice as they make it out to you.”
