This is the moment a thief blasts his accomplice in the eye and kills him outright while robbing a deliveryman in the street.

The incident was filmed in the district of Hualmay, in the province of Huaura, in the central coastal Peruvian department of Lima, at around 9pm on Monday.

In the video, the deliveryman is seen playing on his phone as he sits on his motorbike on the pavement.

Meanwhile, two burly men approach him from behind. The suspect wearing a balaclava points his gun at the victim’s head while his heavyset accomplice nabs his phone and helmet.

The victim apparently reaches for his bike keys and the two thieves respond, leading to the man in the balaclava attempting to hit the deliveryman with the butt of his gun.

However, he apparently lets off a shot and hits his accomplice in the face.

The heavyset man falls backwards into the street and blood starts to pour from his head as his accomplice turns on his heels and scarpers.

According to local reports, the deliveryman was sitting on his bike on the pavement when the two thieves approached him and tried to take his keys.

The killed man has been identified as Roberto Arturo Bazalar Meza, 27, a former deliveryman.

His colleague reportedly shot him in the eye and he died on the spot.

The shooter fled the scene and the local authorities arrived to start the investigation and take Bazalar Meza’s body to the morgue of the Regional Hospital of Huacho.

The investigation is ongoing.
