This is the moment a gang of six armed men jump a Mercedes driver stuck in traffic in a Grand Theft Auto-style heist.

In the footage, which mirrors the controversial video game, the men take the bags from his boot including one believed to contain over 73,000 GBP.

The ‘Grand Theft Auto’-style robbery took place on Leninskiy Avenue in the western Russian capital Moscow when businessman Aleksey Bogatyrev was stuck in a traffic jam.

As seen in the dash-cam footage filmed by the vehicle behind, a silver car suddenly shunted the front of the victim’s Mercedes and then blocked him in.

Three masked men jump out and threaten Bogatyrev, who tries to reverse away but has nowhere to go.

Two other gang members arrive and one of them reportedly fires rubber bullets at the victim.

The armed men manage to open the boot and grab the bags inside before jumping in their vehicles.

According to local media, one of the bags contained 6 million RUB (73,280 GBP).

Reports also said that three vehicles were damaged in the robbery.

The incident reminded Russian residents of the 1990s when gang robberies taking place in broad daylight in front of onlookers were commonplace, according to local media.

The victim was treated for his injuries at the scene but declined any further medical assistance.

The police are still trying to track down the perpetrators as the investigation continues.
