Gruesome Moment Seven Wolves Feast On Elk Carcass In Russia

This is the gruesome moment seven wolves feast on an elk carcass in Russia.

The incident took place in the village of Ferapontovo, which is located in Kirillovsky District, in the Vologda Oblast region, in north-western Russia.

The footage shows five wolves growling and chewing on the carcass of an elk while two other wolves can be seen wandering in the background.

The elk appears to have very little meat left on it and is almost skeleton. It appears to be so light in weight that the skeleton moves as the wolves pull flesh from the carcass.

The incident took place near the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes and was shared online on VKontakte, Russia’s answer to Facebook, among the museum community before spreading to the rest of social media, according to local reports.

The frescoes, made by famous Moscow artist Dionisy (1444-1502) in 1502 are housed in the Virgin Nativity Cathedral at the Ferapontov Monastery nearby. Dionisy was famed during his time for his religious icons and paintings.

Irina Parshukova, the Head of the Museum of Dionisy’s Frescoes, told local media: “The elk died of natural causes near the beaver dam near the turn to the village of Emishevo, it is two kilometres in a straight line from our museum.”
