A zoo in south-eastern China is facing online outrage after a visitor shared a video of one of their bizarre water basins using a bear’s genitalia for a tap.
The visitor, who was not named in local media in Foshan, Guangdong Province, encountered the strangely designed device in the Changlu Tourism Expo Park.
In the footage, the man can be seen putting his hand under the small bear sculpture that sits above the sink when water begins running from the distinctive male-genitalia-shaped faucet.
He appears to be immediately repelled by it and pulls his hand away.
Later, he shared the footage of the uniquely disturbing water fountain on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok.

Many netizens criticised the zoo, and labelled the faucet as “uncivilized” and “vulgar”.
User ‘Seal’ said: “I would feel dirty even after washing.”
And user ‘write late at the end of the poem’ said the animal sculpture looked like it was “peeing on hands.”
Zoo staff came out with a response almost immediately after the video was posted and said that there are one or two such faucets at their park.

They said they received a lot of feedback in which they were accused of being uncivilized, which is reportedly why they decided to rectify the designs.
