This is the moment a poor biker pays heavily for breaking traffic rules when he hits a car travelling in the opposite direction and his leg is torn clean off and left hanging from the vehicle.
CCTV footage shows how the biker speeds down the road, veering onto the wrong side.
The collision takes place off-camera, but the car is then seen entering into view with the man’s severed and bloodied leg hanging from the side.

The car then comes to a halt and a passenger climbs out.
The driver then pops his head out the window and comes face to face with the gory leg, prompting him to climb across and hop out of the passenger’s side before the clip ends.
Photos taken at the scene show how the severed limb appears to be stuck in a small gap between the door and the metal plate at the side of the bonnet.

And the car’s wing mirror also appears to have been torn off by the force of the collision.
According to Brazilian media, the incident took place in the city of Sao Paulo. The time stamp on the footage indicates that it unfolded on Tuesday morning (28th December).
The victim has been named solely as Jorge J.V. in local reports.

As photos show, he survived the collision and was tended to at the scene by paramedics, who applied a tourniquet to his upper leg to stem the bleeding.
His current condition is unclear, but photos of the severed limb show that it was so lacerated that it would have most likely been impossible to reattach.
The footage suggests the car driver was adhering to the speed limit.

The biker, on the other hand, appears to have committed several infractions. Not only was he speeding and travelling on the wrong side of the road, but he was also not wearing a helmet or appropriate footwear.
It is not clear if anyone faces criminal charges.
