GONE TOO SOON: Sudden Death Of Wife Of Ex Chelsea Signing Ulises Davila

The young wife of ex-Chelsea and Mexico footballer Ulises Davila has died suddenly.

Mexican Lily Pacheco passed away at the age of just 31 on the outskirts of Sydney, Australia in the early hours of Monday, 30th May.

The cause of her death is currently unknown.

It was only in March 2020 that she gave birth to the couple’s son Ulises Junior.

Davila, also 31, often used his Instagram page, where he has 45,300 followers, to post snaps of himself spending family time with his wife and son.

In his most recent post at the time of writing, he wrote (in Spanish): “Happy fourth anniversary, my love. I will love you all my life.

“Wherever you are, you were the best and you gave each of us the best of yourself and of your life, you leave me the best of you, a beautiful baby for whom I will fight every day.

“I love you forever and thank you for everything that I enjoyed of you to the fullest and you of me. Thank you to everyone for joining us in this difficult time. I love you, Lily. I will do my best for your son.”

Davila is currently signed to top-flight Australian side Macarthur FC, which he captains and for which he has made 23 appearances, netting seven goals.

He was signed to Chelsea from 2011 to 2015, but made no appearances for the club, as he was loaned out to five different teams during his time there.

He earned several caps for the Mexican U17, U20 and U23 sides between 2007 and 2011.

Macarthur FC paid its respects on social media, writing: “We are saddened to hear Ulises Davila’s wife, Lily has tragically passed away overnight.
