Golden Retriever Rescued After 40ft Drop Off Cliff

This is the moment an adorable Golden Retriever is put in a cage and rescued after plunging 40 feet down a cliff and surviving.

The incident happened in the avenue Rio Mixcoac, in the municipality of Alvaro Obregon, in the Mexican capital, Mexico City.

Police were patrolling the area when they were called to reports of a dog trapped at the bottom of a cliff.

The officers reportedly went to the scene and rescued the dog from the drop that was around 12 metres (39.37 feet) deep.

The video, shared by the authorities, shows the moment the dog is lifted in the air after being trapped in a cage for its safety.

Local media reported that the Golden Retriever dog was checked by members of the Mexico City Animal Protection Brigade who found out that it was suffering from injuries in its back paws.

The dog was taken to the vets in order to be treated.

It is unclear how the dog fell from the cliff and if it has an owner although it was reportedly wearing a collar.

The video was seen more than 36,600 times and received a lot of comments, including from ‘Don_Simon_Dice’ who said: “God bless the cops”.

‘RubnMar81455596’ added: “Good for the rescuers of the dog, good for the cops, congratulations”.

‘TmyAzrael’ said: “there are still good people”.
