GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE: Kansas Sheriff ‘Pardons’ Wild Turkey For Breaking Into Home

A sheriff in Kansas has “pardoned” a turkey for breaking into a home after cops managed to capture it in a woman’s bedroom and release it safely into the wild – but not before it had shed feathers everywhere.

The Douglas County Sheriff said that the turkey, seen in this footage and called Tom, would not face charges for property damage. It is unclear if this gesture of kindness was down to it being Thanksgiving this week.

The video shows the turkey flapping around a woman’s bedroom while police officers, named as deputies Dunkle and Bonner, try to talk it down.

They eventually grab a cover and throw it on the bird but it escapes, with feathers going everywhere.

The terrified fowl then tries to fly for a closed window before one of the officers finally manages to put a cover over its head and carry it out of the house.

One of the officers can then be seen releasing the turkey, which wastes no time escaping back into the wild.

Newsflash obtained a statement from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office dated 23rd November and saying: “In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Sheriff Armbrister has pardoned a Douglas County turkey from any criminal damage charges.
