Hapless climate change activists were dragged out of a concert of Beethoven music after glueing themselves to a removable pole.

The two demonstrators had intended to ruin the performance in the city of Hamburg, Germany, by sticking themselves to the conductor’s podium.

But, according to local media, they had glued their hands to a detachable pole which was simply picked up and used to drag them away.

The Last Generation activists had attempted to hijack a concert at the Elbphilharmonie hall on 23rd November.

The theatre is among the largest and most prestigious concert halls in the world.

The unidentified man and woman outraged the audience when they glued themselves to the conductor’s podium just minutes before the start of the performance.

But as they began lecturing spectators about global warming and the German government’s failings, the orchestra manager simply lifted up the railing they were attached to.

Then he carried it offstage to a rehearsal room dragging the protestors along with it.

The manager’s quick thinking was rewarded with a round of applause from the audience before the concert restarted after a six-minute delay.

Police officers later detached the activists from the railing and took them into custody.

Elbphilharmonie officials stated: “Of course we want our audience to have a trouble-free concert experience.

“But we also understand the concern for our natural livelihoods peacefully expressed by the young protesters.”

Meanwhile, social media users mocked the activists after a video of the absurd incident was shared on Twitter.

Twitter user ‘IngridStangl1’, who shared the video said: “Germany’s most embarrassing climate stickers are flying out of the Elbphilharmonie!”

While ‘KarlHei64031538’, replied: “I do hope they were told they could take the pole home.”

And ‘AKaiser94789344’, commented: “Splendid! Famous for a few seconds, embarrassed for the rest of your life!”
