This is the moment a man on a motorbike approaches a girl on the street and punches her in the face before dragging her off in a suspected kidnapping attempt.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in Xochimilco in the central Mexican capital Mexico City and was shared on Twitter by netizen ‘Claudia Hernandez’ where it has been viewed over 23,000 times.

She accompanied the clip with the message: “They asked me to make this viral. Sadly, they tried to take a girl in front of a friend’s house in Xochimilco. No place is safe.”

In the footage, a biker is seen parking his motorcycle on the side of the road before approaching a girl walking past.

After engaging her in conversation, apparently trying to get her to go on his motorbike with him, he is seen hitting the victim hard in the face before grabbing her with both arms.

The girl struggles and luckily managed to escape, according to local media, with the biker eventually returning to his vehicle and riding off.

According to local media, Xochimilco is considered a dangerous neighbourhood in Mexico City and young women are often targeted by kidnappers.

A female resident identified as Daniela Ramirez recently disappeared after getting into a taxi in the same area, according to reports.

The local authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the incident captured on CCTV.

Netizen ‘Jactac13’ said: “Girls, do not go out, just stay at home and watch movies, chat with friends and help your parents. You will be safe indoors.”

‘ERodriguez231’ commented: “Clearly, nowhere is safe anymore. Well, Xochimilco has never been safe as the video shows.”
