A two-year-old has reportedly killed a baby boy when she was playing in her parent’s car and let the handbrake off.

The young girl was listening to music in the car when she let the handbrake off near a riverbank in the village of Chertovitsy in the Russian region of Voronezh Oblast.

The Ford Focus reportedly rolled forwards and hit a 10-month-old boy sitting with his father and several other adults on chairs near the riverbank on 8th August, according to the news site Komsomolskaya Pravda.

The accident reportedly happened in a flash and no one had time to save the boy who died of his injuries at the scene.

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Voronezh Region confirmed that the incident is under investigation.

Officials explained that there were many people on the riverbank at the time and investigators are establishing whether the girl was the only person in the car, and what her parents were doing when she was reportedly alone and listening to music in the front seat.
