Girl, 12, Murders Cop Dad Inspired By Red Baron Heiress Who Killed Father

A schoolgirl aged 12 has apparently confessed to killing her cop dad after being inspired by the famous killing of a descendant of the famous German flying ace the Red Baron by his daughter.

In the latest murder, the schoolgirl and a girlfriend aged 13 allegedly murdered her police officer dad after they were inspired by the case in which Suzane Louise von Richthofen killed her wealthy parents in Sao Paulo in Brazil in 2002.

Police investigators looking into the murder of their colleague, 46-year-old Neife Luiz Werlang, arrested the two girls and local media outlet ND+ has revealed that both allegedly planned and carried out the murder because they wanted to become famous like von Richthofen.

The latest killing has bought the Red Baron murder from 2002 back to the forefront of the public psyche that even inspired two films, one in which the parents were killed so the daughter could inherit their money, and the other in which she was forced to do it by her cannabis-smoking boyfriend after they tried to end their relationship.

Suzane von Richthofen, as well as her boyfriend Daniel Cravinhos and his brother Cristian Cravinhos, were all convicted of murdering Manfred Albert von Richthofen and Marisia von Richthofen, Suzane’s parents.

ND+ reports that regarding this latest murder, the teenagers confessed to the crime and revealed that they were inspired by Suzane’s story and documentaries that treated the young woman as a celebrity victim of society, so the two believed they would achieve the same level of fame as Suzane.

Investigative police officer Neife Luiz Werlang was found murdered with three stab wounds to his neck at his home in Sao Miguel do Oeste, a municipality of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina last Friday (15th October).

Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) detectives are reported as having said that the two teenagers, who have not been named, confessed to planning and carrying out the murder. The victim’s daughter is 12 years old and her female friend is 13.

Still according to ND+, the teenagers allegedly planned to kill the policeman’s wife as well, but they were unable to do so.

ND+ said that once at the police station, the teenagers did not show any regret and asked whether they would become famous like the Richthofens.

They are now in custody at the local DPCAMI (Police Station for Children, Adolescents, Women and the Elderly).

Suzane Louise von Richthofen, now 37, started studying biomedical sciences at Anhanguera University in the Brazilian city of Taubate but still has to spend the night in jail in an open prison and wear an ankle tag.

Suzane von Richthofen is reportedly a relative of the German World War I flying ace known as the Red Baron, according to the BBC, who said that her father was a great nephew of the famous fighter pilot Baron Manfred von Richthofen, who died in a dogfight in 1918 over the River Somme.

Suzane von Richthofen had planned the murder for months and on the night of the crime, she disconnected their home alarm system after checking they were asleep.

She then opened the door to her boyfriend, 21-year-old Daniel Cravinhos, and his 26-year-old brother Cristian, who had been waiting outside.

The young men went upstairs to the parents’ bedroom and they struck them with iron bars before strangling them with towels as von Richthofen waited in the living room downstairs.

Following the murders, they staged a break-in and left, with von Richthofen returning with her 15-year-old brother Andreas, who had spent the night at Daniel’s house, the following day.

Von Richthofen then called the police after ‘discovering’ the crime scene. However, the police later arrested her and her two accomplices after finding her behaviour suspicious, which included celebrating her 19th birthday hours after her parents funeral.

The crime became widely known in Brazil due to von Richthofen’s good looks and her upper-middle-class background.

Psychological tests revealed she was egocentric and had a narcissistic personality disorder.

The murders inspired the 2021 Brazilian films ‘The Girl Who Killed Her Parents’ and ‘The Boy Who Killed My Parents’, which depict two different versions of the events.
