Gang Filmed Robbing 13K From Car Stuck In Traffic Jam

This is the moment four masked men reportedly steal over 13,000 GBP from a motorist stuck in traffic jam before making their getaway in the opposite direction.

According to local media, the gang conducted several robberies between January and December 2018 and three of the four suspects have now been charged following a pre-trial investigation.

The unnamed suspects, from Ukraine and Georgia, stole a total of 2.2 million UAH (72,115 GBP) in several robberies that took place in the Ukrainian cities of Kiev and Odessa, according to local media.

Reports said that the four men, born in 1976, 1983, 1985 and 1989, were arrested in December 2018 during an attack on a local businessman.

The video footage, which has only just emerged in local media, shows an alleged robbery on 6th December 2018 when the masked gang are seen smashing the victim’s side window while he was stuck in traffic before seizing a backpack with 420,000 UAH (13,771 GBP) in cash inside, according to reports.

Local media said that the police chased the vehicle and during the suspects’ arrest, they hit one cop and threatened to use a grenade against officers. One of the alleged gang members was shot and wounded during the incident.

During police raids on their homes, officers reportedly seized an F1 grenade, a Fort-12 semi-automatic pistol and ammunition, a Makarov pistol that was reported as stolen in 2017, as well as mobile devices, five sets of licence plates and other material evidence.

According to local media, the pre-trial investigation has concluded and three of the suspects will face judiciary proceedings while the fourth member is currently on the run.

If found guilty, the defendants could face up to 15 years in prison. The case is ongoing.
