This is the moment gale-force winds push a Chinese resident along a footpath before tossing her head over heels and she face-plants to the ground.

The incident happened in the city of Baoding, in North China’s Hebei Province, where video has also emerged of a giant metal roof crashing onto a road after being ripped from a building by gusts measuring up to 8 on the Beaufort scale yesterday (18th March).

In the video showing the resident wearing a hoodie and walking on a footpath, the woman is suddenly pushed forwards and until both her feet trip over a raised stone step.

She flies forwards and crash-lands onto the ground face first as the video ends.

As the Baoding Meteorological Bureau announced a blue warning for strong winds affecting China’s northern and north-eastern regions, footage also emerged of a corrugated iron roof being torn off the roof of a building on Zhongshan Road in Mancheng District.

The large metal sheet crashes onto the thoroughfare, reportedly damaging a number of cars but causing no serious injuries.

Sparks fly as power lines are broken by the iron roof, the dashcam video shows.

In similar footage captured throughout Baoding, a prefabricated house is seen tumbling away.

In another, a resident surveys a car park where a number of vehicles have been damaged by collapsed tin roofs and metal awnings.

The freak weather, which lasted for several hours, also triggered a large number of bush fires throughout the city, as well as in nearby Beijing.
