This viral video – seen over 11 million times in less than 24 hours – shows a pop star appearing to kick a fan in the back after she tried to film a selfie video with her idol.

A selfie video reportedly taken by her fan on 26 September shows the young woman walking ahead of Na, 51, as she appears in the shopping centre with another female acquaintance.

The fan, who has not been named, said the incident occurred in the City of Dreams – a shopping complex and casino resort in Macao.

As the smiling fan records the famous singer, Na appears to frown before kicking the young woman in the back, sending her reeling forwards and laughing as the video ends.

Na can also be heard saying: “Stop filming me.”

The footage was posted on 1st October – the first day of China’s National Day holidays celebrating the Communist Party’s 70th anniversary.

It has since been viewed more than 11 million times in less than 24 hours, attracting nearly 30,000 comments and more than 230,000 likes.

The fan revealed in an anonymous post that she had followed Na to Macao for the recording of the latest season of Sing! China.

However, the incident left her “bitterly disappointed”.

The fan said she ripped up her ticket to the show and “cried for a long time” after the incident.

The alleged kick has divided opinion online, social media users condemning both the fan’s intrusion of the singer’s privacy as well as the celebrity’s over-the-top response.

The fan is not expected to press charges, but neither Na nor her representatives have issued a public apology.

Na, from Shenyang in China’s north-eastern province of Liaoning, shot to fame as a prominent Mandrain artist in 1994 with the release of her first major album Dreaming With You.

Her long-lasting stage career has seen her perform at the closing ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, as well as appearing on the panels of singing contests The Voice of China and Sing! China.
