FRY PHONE: iPhone Survives Battering In Boiling Fried Chicken Oil

This is the moment when a street chef accidentally drops his expensive iPhone into a pan of boiling oil and it still works fine afterwards.

The clip – which had been viewed nearly 900,000 times at the time of writing – was posted to TikTok by cook Zaiem.

It opens with him explaining in Malay how he makes deep-fried spicy chicken goreng at his street stall in Seberang Perai, Malaysia.

But as he moves his mobile phone over the sizzling chicken to film more closely, he accidentally lets it go and the device plunges into the oil-filled pan.

The footage suddenly goes black and the gurgling sound of boiling oil can be heard.

Seconds later, Zaiem retrieves his iPhone 13 Pro with a ladle and, remarkably, the device continues filming.

He uses it later in the car and it apparently films as if as good as new.

TikTok ‘Burhan Jumali’ joked “@apple next commercial”, while ‘izadsyah’ wrote “@apple best testimony ever”.

Others suggested iPhone sales would rocket after the clip apparently proved that the iPhone is not just waterproof but also oil-proof.

Another netizen joked that the clip gives viewers a unique insight into what it is like to be deep fried.
